UF police release lengthy reports on Treon Harris investigation

Sexual battery claim against Florida QB later dropped, no charges filed

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida freshman quarterback Treon Harris was at the center of a sexual battery claim that was later dropped. Now, News4Jax has obtained the police reports on the investigation into Harris, who was never charged with a crime.

Those reports from the University of Florida Police Department include more than 100 pages and dozens of other documents detailing Harris' phone records, including some text messages that reveal a little more about the incident.

One sequence of texts was between Harris and someone who's name is not revealed but who is identified as the accuser's roommate.

Roommate: "Soooo you and my roomate hooked up last night??"
Harris: "He'll naw"
Roommate: "almost hooked?? Something happened I know that...."
Harris: "you know I want do nothing with your roommate use your mind."

Another series of text messages, this time between Harris and the woman who accused him, shows Harris saying, "Don't tell nobody bout nothing And don't try me ever again, I wouldn't even come near me if I were yu."

In interview conducted by police, an officer asked Harris if the woman ever said "No" during the incident.

Harris responded, "She probably just feeling bad or something about herself, but she never said none of that, like none of it, get off me, nothing."

Several times in witness accounts and in her statements to police, the accuser said Harris forced himself on her and wouldn't stop.

In the offense report, she said she "told Harris to get off of her … repeatedly told him to stop … and a little later she "continued to repeatedly tell him to stop" … while Harris "remained silent."

But throughout his interview with police, Harris insisted that the sex, which he admitted to, was consensual. He also indicated he was worried that the accusation "was going to be on ESPN" and that it was going to be similar to an incident involving Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, who was accused of sexual assault but investigators determined there was not enough evidence to charge Winston.

When the allegations first came to light, Harris was suspended from the team but was reinstated days later when the accuser dropped her complaint.

Harris has been named the starter for Florida's game against Georgia on Nov. 1 at EverBank Field.
