A Pew Research survey found 61 percent of Facebook users have voluntarily taken an extended break from the site. Here are the reasons users took a hiatus from Facebook.
21 percent: Was too busy or didn’t have time
10 percent: Wasn’t interested or didn’t like it
10 percent: It was a waste of time of the content wasn’t relevant
9 percent: There was too much drama, gossip, negativity or conflict
8 percent: Was spending too much time using the site
8 percent: Was an infrequent user
8 percent: Went on vacation, a trip or was deployed
7 percent: Got tired or bored with it
6 percent: No real reason
4 percent: Concerns about privacy, security, spam or ads
2 percent: Didn’t have Internet access
2 percent: Prefer other communication methods or felt Facebook wasn’t “real life”
2 percent: Health or age issues
1 percent: Religious reasons
1 percent: Didn’t want to post all the time or share
