One last freeze and then the fast track to Spring

Many areas across Georgia and north Florida saw temperatures flirt with the freezing mark overnight Saturday and temperatures are expected to bottom out in the 20s before dawn Monday across the area as winter makes its last strong stand across our area.
The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for the entire viewing area for Sunday night. A hard freeze warning has been issued for Hamilton and Suwannee counties as temperatures there are expected to drop below 27 degrees for at least two hours.
Many plants and trees have blossomed already and with the expected freeze tonight, many of those tender plants will be in jeopardy of being killed if they are not protected.

Heavy frost is expected across the region heading into Monday morning. You'll also want to remember our furry friends. Please remember to bring your pets inside. Their coats are not thick enough to shelter them from the intense cold.
Temperatures will moderate heading into the work week as high temperatures finally make it back into the 60s and 70s for daytime highs. They'll be a couple of cool days on Wednesday and Thursday but not to the degree of what we have now.
This should be the last freeze of the season and the fast track to Spring begins soon
