Late April chill this morning

Inland temps in the 40s

As late as June 1st!!!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – The winter that never seemed to quit, maybe quitting early!  This despite a chilly morning with inland temperatures starting in the 40s.  You will need a jacket here this morning.  Beautiful sunshine our temperatures will jump nicely this afternoon! Which means if you layer-up the kids on their way out to school, make sure they have their jackets/sweatshirts/sweaters when they head home.  Otherwise, you may not see that jacket again until you check the end of the year lost and found pile at school.  Trust me from experience this happens...

OK, so it's a chilly start, we are into April already, therefore we are through with all of the chill?  As Spring will kick-in and before we know it temperatures will be hovering around 90°?  Not so fast, as it turns out, our average last chilly morning (in the 40s) is around May 1st.  Yet, as I look at the forecast models, they are not showing any deep shots of cold air down south through the end of the month, so maybe, just maybe we are done with the chill.
