Equinox is not meant for equal number of hours of daylight and nighttime.  Sun rays are bent by the Earth's atmosphere and as such we actually see equal number of minutes of daylight and nighttime about 4 days earlier (March 16th).  Our days are actually already longer than our nights.

In Jacksonville, the first day of Spring has an average daytime high is 75°  By the way, the Fall equinox has an average high of 85°.

For today, grab the sunglasses and a light jacket as we should see a typical Spring day with an afternoon high of 75°.
