Mini-nor'easter dumps flooding rains into Georgia

Weather Authority Alert Day produced heavy rains in Georgia and a messy day in Jacksonville.  Severe thunderstorms also deposited small hail in St. John County and up to 2" of rain in one hour in St. Simons Island, GA.   See area rainfall amounts.

Starting this morning, Easter weekend weather will be slow to improve as the storm system that brought the wild weather on Friday will be slow to move out, so expect a cloudy, cool Saturday with just a few showers around.  Showers will be generally brief and last less than 20 minutes.

Easter sunrise services (6:54am) should be pretty chilly with morning temperatures in the 50s, rising to the low 70s under partly cloudy skies!
