Weather Alert Day ends after heavy rains

Easter weekend forecast starts with clouds and cooler temps

Mini-nor'easter dumps flooding rains into Georgia

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Weather Authority Alert Day produced heavy rains in Georgia and a messy day in Jacksonville.  Severe thunderstorms also deposited small hail in St. John County and up to 2" of rain in one hour in St. Simons Island, GA.   See area rainfall amounts.

Starting this morning, Easter weekend weather will be slow to improve as the storm system that brought the wild weather on Friday will be slow to move out, so expect a cloudy, cool Saturday with just a few showers around.  Showers will be generally brief and last less than 20 minutes.
