FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Police in southwest Florida say a 52-year-old woman has died months after she was struck by a vehicle during a road rage incident.

Lorraine McDaniel and Kristee Ann Barres were hit by a vehicle driven by Eric Montez on April 17 near Fort Myers.

Police say the women came to the aid of a jogger who felt Montez had driven too close to him and tapped his PT Crusier. Montez left the car and chased the man about 100 yards before punching him in the face.

The News-Press of Fort Myers (http://newspr.es/1ps3Iva ) reports the women tried to stop Montez and said they would call police. He got back into the car and hit them, backing up some 50 feet to back over McDaniel.

McDaniel died Monday from her injuries.
