Man shot in Sunday's 2nd drive-by shooting

Adult male shot in torso, police searching for vehicle

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot during what officers say was a drive-by shooting in the Hyde Park area Sunday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Around 2 p.m. Sunday officers responded to 7200 Eudine Drive and found an adult male had been shot in the torso area. He was taken to UF Health where he is in non-life-threatening condition. Detectives are talking to him to try and figure out what happened, JSO said.

After investigating and canvassing the neighborhood, Sgt. Bobby Lyle said police are looking for a vehicle that was likely involved in the shooting.

"Around that time a black mustang driven by one person and occupied by several other people came by and did sort of a drive by shooting at an address here in the 7200 block," Sgt. Lyle said.

There were several people outside in the front yard of the home at the time of the shooting, according to JSO.

Lyle said officers do not believe this shooting is related to any other incidents and that it was isolated to the people that live in that particular home.

This is an ongoing investigation and this story will be updated if any new information becomes available.
