Deputies in Columbia County seized about seven pounds of marijuana Friday during a traffic stop.

At about 5:30 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on East Highway 90. They saw two unrestrained children in the backseat.

Cpl. Matt Grinstead was present with this K9 partner Zombie, which alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics in the trunk area of the car.

A search of the car resulted in the discovery of seven pounds of marijuana.

Byrda Raper, 28, of Lake City, was arrested without incident, and family members arrived to take custody of the children. Raper was transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility and booked on felony charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Raper's was released on $31,000 bond.
