Detectives discovered the stolen credit card was used in Lake City.

Deputies said 24-year-old David Wester used the stolen credit card to purchase gas at a convenience store and also used it at Walmart to purchase items.

Detectives said they reviewed surveillance video from both stores and were able to obtain a description of the suspect and a description of his vehicle.

Deputies located a disabled vehicle on U.S. 441 North on Friday. Wester was inside. The vehicle and the suspect matched the description of the suspect detectives were looking for.

Wester admitted to detectives that he stole the credit card and cash from the victims purse while at a local restaurant, deputies said.

Wester was arrested without incident and transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility with bail set at $15,000.
